and all thanks to Girl Guides

Remember that old Lancaster bomber
that used to be on display near the CNE?

It was recently disassembled and moved here, to the Toronto Aerospace Museum in Downsview, for a piece-by-piece restoration which will take several years.

And why do I bring this up? Because this week I accompanied Emma-Claire (seen here at far right) on a Girl Guide field trip to said Museum, which is actually kinda cool.

A highlight is this full-scale, very detailed, and very impressive replica of the ill-fated Avro Arrow, which was just unveiled a month ago.

I think brother Brian would enjoy this place.

You get to play pilot in a nearby room.
The controls look very intimidating…

…but the resemblance to Tom Cruise is startling.
